The workshop will cover the mechanics of controlling the opponents weapon during the initial clash, maneuvring your opponent, and working to establish a winning position.
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is aimed at existing HEMA fencers who want to improve their understanding of grappling, and their ability to execute or defend grappling actions.
Kit requirements
Full HEMA sparring gear is recommended.
Some loaner gear will be available. Please contact us to arrange it.
A gumshield. We won’t be loaning these out!

About Jambo
Jamie, commonly known as Jambo within Scottish HEMA has been practising grappling for over 20 years, and earned his black belt under the umbrella of the Rio Grappling Club at the Griphouse in Glasgow. Practising HEMA for 8 years, Jambo has taken gold at the last two Glasgow HEMA Open Mixed/Mens Sabre competitions, and has risen to number 55 in Mixed/Mens Sabre on HEMA Ratings.
